Prof. Milena Georgieva at the “Science in Action” conference

Arbilis organised the “Science in Action” conference in Sofia to examine health challenges around the world.

Prof. Milena Georgieva, Epix AI’s Chief Scientific Officer and professor of molecular biology and epigenetics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, described worrying trends in Bulgaria, including the EU’s highest smoking rate and rising obesity, and called for urgent health reform.

She made the case for natural, minimally processed food: the less processing food undergoes before it reaches our plates, the fewer harmful substances it contains, and the better it is for our health.
